New Tokay Gecko Pads

antonm Sep 11, 2003 09:36 PM

I work at a local petshop and I had them order me a female tokay for my male. I just got it today and they seem to be ok with each other (took sepearate corners though) but the famale is not in the best shape (even pre-pet shop....). In any case, her pads are not clean and nice like my male but it almost looks like she has some parts of them missing and has black in some of them. They are not neatly folded like my male. My question is, do you think they will get better or will they stay like that? She climbs fine and bites a lot so she's relatively healthy, I just dont know if those heal over time and so forth. I cant really take too good a pic since its night and she just now got up on the glass, but I will take one in the morning to better illustrate my point. Thanks guys.

Is she WC. Could be damage from being removed from objects unwillingly without care, or has had a couple bads sheds due to lack of enough humidty during keeping and shipping.

Probably not WC but she did come in with several non-shedded areas. I raised the humidity up a bit and it took care of it (that humidifier thing is awesome). I still dont know about her pads though, she's hiding right now in this log I put in there for her and doesnt come out much (typical). I'll let you know when she comes out if the pads are looking somewhat better.....

Well hope she comes thru ok. I personally havent had any experience with that type of a problem yet so im not sure if they will heal or not.
