Some pics of the season

waspinator421 Mar 26, 2009 03:58 PM

Since this forum has been slow lately, I thought I'd share some pics of my Thayeri during this breeding season.

First up is Korben and Nermal breeding.

Next is Damien doing his thing with Miss Bianca. Even though he was in shed, he was still on fire when he got a whiff of her.

Here is Miss Bianca today... very swollen with eggs and just barely started her pre-lay shed cycle.

This is Leeloo... extremely gravid and deep in her pre-lay shed.

Last up is Artax. She just started rejecting Korben and hasn't gone in to shed yet. I have felt at least three eggs so far in her. Maybe she will have anoher small clutch like last year? Time will tell.

I have a couple Pueblan Milksnakes that will be laying any day now... they will be my first snake eggs of the season. Can't wait to start filling the incubator!!

Wow, Aubrey, you start early! My 2 pairs are just locking up! That first pic, is she really that pink? Awesome!

Thanks Todd! Actually in that first pic the female is the darker one. The male, Korben, is a white leonis... the pics aren't showing the colors quite right... he isn't pink at all.

Good luck with your pairings!

Thanks for sharing the great pictures of your breeders. I know you had a real drought last year, so I really hope you get some nice hatchlings this year. Your breeders are so nice, you should get beauties! Best of luck!

Tom

Thank you Tom! Yeah, last year was a real bummer. Had lots of eggs but very few babies. Perhaps this year will make up for it!

Well, I had planned to breed Zoot with Damien but he had been showing zero interest in her. He was all over Miss Bianca, but Zoot seemed to have cooties or something. Zoot shed this morning, so I put them together again... still nothing. I had an extra male, Jarvis, so I thought I'd see what would happen putting him in with Zoot instead. He was all over that girl, and she lifted her tail and everything for him. Only minutes later they were hooked up! I guess Damien wasn't compatable with her? Who knows. Anyway, here are a couple pics of the lockup:

And so you know what the snakes look like that own those tails...

Yeah, me too! I wasn't planning on using him until next year, but he made a nice stand in for Damien. Thanks again, Craig... he is a very handsome boy.

Did you get one of those snakes in the first picture from Tony D? The one that looks like it has a little gohst figure on it's neck.
Russ

None of those are from Tony D... which one were you referring to? I don't see the ghost figure.

At first I thought you meant produced by Tony D.... I see tha ghost figure now... yes I bought that female from him and I believe she is from your stock if I remember correctly. Have to check her records.

yeah I thought so. That one has a very unique mark (spooky) and she was my favorite in the clutches I hatched out that year. She comes from some real good blood Applegate/Sipperly....most of my stock did.

Good luck, Russ

waspinator421 Mar 31, 2009 04:51 PM

Russ, do you happen to have pictures of her parents? Any lineage info as well? All I have from Tony is that she hatched in 2005, and that she was produced by you. Anything further I can add to her records will me much appreciated!

Aubrey,

Nice pairings!!!! I wish you the best & hope your are blessed with many head "pips"...

Later,
Jim.

PS: You going to Daytona again this year? According to my "welcome back" packet...The new addition is completed and will be in use for the first time. Also, the packet mentioned that there will be a shipping service there this year that you will be able to ship your animals directly from the show. This is a nice "service" that has not been available before...
