Burmese Python, strange behaviour

santamarina Mar 26, 2009 04:44 PM

Hi chaps,

I've got a two-year old male albino burm who has always been very healthy. However, a couple of days ago I noticed that he was making a funny noise. It`s like he puffs up and then opens his mouth wide and blows air out. It`s strange. He doesn´t appear to have anything else wrong with him as he as a bright and lively as ever.

Is he OK, or should I dash to the vet?

Please help me someone.

Mickey

No. None. His mouth is clear. He's not doing it so much now. He just did it once yesterday (I was in with him all day).
Thanks for replying.

Sounds like it's recovering from a mild bout of respiratory infection. I suggest keeping the humidity & the temperatures on the high end for at least a week.

Best wishes!

Thank you so much HH! He's much better now and isn´t making that funny noise/movement any more.

Warm regards from Venezuela
