Assist/Force Feeding

killerchondros Mar 27, 2009 04:04 PM

Hi,

I have a older girl that refuses to eat. I waited for the weather to heat up...no signs of being gravid, just wont eat. Live or dead. She is becoming weaker and had skin folds.

I need to get nurishment in her so I am asking for the less stressful methods of doing so. I tried placing a dead Med rat in her mouth and waited for 5 minutes gently releasing her hoping she would finish. She fights every time.

Can you please advise methods of tube feeding? What you use?

The vet advised tube feeding. I'm asking the community for input before I make a decision.
Thanks,
