Gravid Colombian Rainbow boa advice.

hayley1912 Mar 27, 2009 09:47 PM

Hi,
My female has been noticably larger since the beginning of January, and has grown gradually in width over the months. I missed her ovualting, but there was plenty of mating going on late oct-late Nov, but it could have gone on up untill mid feb as I kept the male in with her untill then to be sure.
She has shed twice in the last 6 weeks. She has been moving well between her hot and cold end, seems to be drinking well and apart from missing the last 3? feeds, seems to be doing fine.
I have bred common boas before so hoped the signs of upcoming birth would be similar? But so far she hasn't shown any sign of getting closer. I was putting her due date at about the end of this month going by when the most activity was taking place, but that now seems unlikely. Does anyone have any pointers as to what indicates she is getting closer, and going by my very vague dates, any idea as to when she is due?
Also is there anything I should look out for that will indicate she has gone over and needs to visit the vet.
Thanks in advance.

Just sit back and be patient, she knows exactly what to do!!

They do get restless before dropping babies.
