speckled king breeding question

mattkau Mar 27, 2009 10:21 PM

Well, my wc pair of speckled kings bred for the first time the other night. I talked about it in an earlier post. They stayed locked up for about three hours. I fed them both and put the female in the males cage. He chased her around a bit but she wanted nothing to do with him. She aggresively jerked away from him and vibrated her tail in anger. Is this a good indication that the first breeding was successful? I know only time will tell, but any expierences help. Thanks.

Wait a few days and reintroduce...helps to put them on newspaper to see the leftovers, but witnessing is as good as it gets. It doesn't insure a fertile breeding but nothing ever does. Try again, maybe up to 4 times total, you should be good to go.
