My guess would be stress. The only time I have seen any MHD spend much time on the ground it was ill or otherwise stressed. I do have one female that is an exception though, she is on the ground most of the time but she is also the most active dragon I have. I would really watch to see if she is eating and watch for any activity. Of course I have not worked with armatas so I can only tell you what I have experienced with the capras. It is also possible that if the male is trying to mate and she isn't ready that she could be trying to hide from him.

I don't know what happened to her-i cleaned out the ground level fo the cage today, and i didn't see her. In a little bit i'm going to check the upper level, but i don't think she's there. She may have gotten out, but all the lizards are in a small room, so there'd be no where for her to go but on the ground. I'm really worried...hopefully she's ok

One of my female capras got loose and I found her a week later. My reptile room has lots of wooden stands and shelves for the babies, the snakes, and the rodents so there is lots of hiding room. I kept checking anything I though she could climb and when I found her she was on the floor next to her viv and I would have stepped on her if I hadn't seen her when I did :O

I did keep a pan of water and a dish of mealies on the floor in hopes she would be attracted to them but they were on the other side of the room! If your viv is built of wood she could even climb that if she is loose. Check the back and on top just in case.

Good luck, I hope she shows herself soon!

I found a place where she may be...under their cage, there is a tiny space that she probably could have gotten under. Problem is, that cage weighs A TON. I put out some water, and i'm gonna put out some mealies. Hopefully i'll find her alive and well
