Super Jungles!

sdi Mar 28, 2009 10:37 AM

During the 2007/08 season when these photos were taken, these two decided to have a "lazy" winter. They appeared to be off to the same start this season so I added a proven jungle male to the mix and it worked. I witnessed multiple copulations including both of them copulating at the same time. The P.O.S. was on 11/25/2008 and the babies came at 109 days on 03/14/2009.

I was really hoping for the hypo jungles but I got these instead. There were 25 babies in the litter: 5 super jungles, 15 jungles, and 5 regulars. There was also one pill and one of the five supers was still born. The still born was a male, large bodied, no kinks or any other apparent defects. He appeared to asphyxiate on the birth fluid. My thought is he would have been a healthy boa if not for suffocating.

The supers are just as big as the other babies in the litter, There are no signs of defective behavior and all accepted food the first time (even the one that has not shed yet).

They all have either pink or red eyes! It makes them look so evil!

Good luck to everyone!

Those are gorgeous babies, I can't wait until you post pics of the whole litter, they are magnificent! Seems like doubling up males was the right decision to me. Wouldn't mind some close-ups of those kids red eyes though! hint hint...
Also, that red stud in the first picture... he is on fire! I caught myself drooling on the keyboard...

Hey Al, I have to agree with you. Super jungles are my favorite too, especially the ones with the red eyes and wacked out pattern.

I have some other photos I will post soon. My flash blew out so I am going to hopefully make it to the photo shop today to get a new one. I will give you the best of what I have.

Good luck to you this season!

I have to be honest, my first reaction was dissapointment because I really could have used those hypo jungles. After messing around with these supers a bit I am not too dissapointed any more.

I am looking forward to the crazy motley stuff you will putting out this season. Good Luck!

while hypo jungles would have been nice too, those are some super looking, well, supers! Terrific, love the patterns, the perfect 'hole in the head', what a great sight first thing in the morning. I might not even need my coffee today.
Congrats on the killer litter!
