finally went outdoors tonight...
peepers , man are they loud, for a little bitty frog, they can screeeam..right in front of you(us) and cannot see them, but they peep so loud....hundreds and hundreds of them all over all the area ponds and pools....wetlands, probagation area....closed to the public......we actually spotted some, even though they are good at hiding,,,,I hear them all the time, never got out and looked for them...
spotted salamanders are in the pools....none on the roads....but the few pools they use had them in there,,,,,nice....
.wood frog eggs growing nicely...good algea cover to them also.....only saw one wood frog, saw a couple greens....and one leopard we think....maybe a pickerel....light was bad....
raining again....3 days rain next week, ..so the runoffs and vernal pools should hold up well for awhile....
oh...and today was the first day the toads were out they told me....the one guy was out Thursday and didn't see any....just the spotteds on the roads....no toads...tonight the toads were all over the place.....had to keep the pitbull from eating them.......eeew...
so hopefully I get out in daylight and flip some snake cover soon....
good luck all.........wish we had red racers and striped racers here....or garters like the Texas ones below....nice stuff....Pa has crap snakes....UGH......and friends are in the ANF right now...!....too bad I found out when they elft and not before....
