Lyons Incubators

mancuso Sep 11, 2003 11:23 PM

Hello,
I am trying to produce some green tree pythons this season and I was wondering what you guys think about the Lyon incubators, if you've heard of them. I am looking at the RL1 model. I know it may seem like overkill to some of you to pay $500 when I could build my own or use a cheaper one, but I feel this may take alot of the stress out and make egg management easier. I feel it is better to eliminate as much of the risk as possible. Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.
Thanks alot,
Nick

I am not familiar with the Lyons unit but recently purchased the Avey "Chondrobator" for my own use. This incubator is designed especially for the needs of chondro eggs by Jim Avey (extensive work in incubating and hatching exotic birds) and one of the most knowlegable and experienced chondro breeders, Trooper Walsh.

They've really got this unit dialed in and is pretty close in price to the Lyons unit you mentioned. Take a look at their web site..... and if any more questions send them an email. They've been great with customer support. Just in case you'll be anywhere near the MARS show in MD, the units will be there as well as the "Chondro Coalition".
