infrared lamps?

trex8692 Mar 29, 2009 05:32 PM

i have decided to purchase a 50 watt infrared lightbulb to further heat my leo's warm area of the cage

the reason for purchase: it produces a red light, which i read that geckos are not particularly sensitive too, and without it my UTH only achieves a temperature of about 83.7 or so. The infrared adds to about 90-91 degrees.

Did i make a good choice in buying the bulb?

In my opinion, yes it was a good choice. I personally don't like heat lamps, but I'm all for a 90 F basking locale.
