Oct. 2 is the expected hatch date for my eggs. (60 days from when laid) 2 are starting to dimple is this normal? They are 39 days in the incubator now?

2 of my eggs are getting really soft and starting to dimple 39 days into incubation. They are all good, I just candled them and the babies are moving around in all 4 eggs. Just wondering if they should soften and dimple this soon. I have them on damp vermiculite with a lid over the container and they are in a hovobator. Thanks for any help.

I would say you are probably ok. Usually eggs will begin to dimple about two weeks prior to hatching, but some of mine will dimple a little earlier. I would keep a close eye and make sure they are not dimpling too much, but I would think you are fine. Hope this helps.

My first and only clutch, perfect 80g babies from really big eggs. The clutch weighed 683g, so the eggs averaged 114g when laid. The clutch still weighed around 685g when they started to dimple, so I didn't worry, just added a little water to the vermiculite to be sure I kept the humidity up.
