Tweek finally ate !!!

wpglaeser2003 Mar 30, 2009 08:18 AM

For those who remember my post a little bit ago (2nd thread on page 2 now), my Jalisco-type hadn't eaten for 3 months.

Suggestions were made about temps and humidity, and maybe it was just because of hibernation or breeding instincts.

This weekend I got some moss and made him up a humid hide in a Country Crock container. I put him in the top and he crawled right out the hole (lol), but he got the idea (and might remember it from when he was little). He didn't go back in there until last evening when I offered a F/T hopper in a dixie cup and sprinkled some water around his mulch and left.

I checked late last night and the mouse was gone. This morning I lifted the humid hide, and I believe he's in there (it feels heavy).

So... HOORAY!

BTW, he'll be 4 this Aug/Sep timeframe.

Thanks for all your help and support!

Walt

P.S. I put thermometers and a hygrometer in there.

The warm side is around 85 deg and the cool side is around 70-72, I believe. And he has plenty of hides and a thick layer of cypress mulch.

Sound good?
