Feeding problems..

Gargoyle420 Sep 12, 2003 12:53 AM

Hi all,im having a hard time getting my 2 year old leopard tort to switch over to better food.I live in farm country so it's easy for me to get good clover, etc. The litle guy has been on a romaine/greens diet, dusted of course with calcium.I have been buying him cactus, dried clover, alfalfa, and he just doesnt seem impressed by it at all.All he does is hiss at me when i feed him now.He does manage to put some of the clover, fresh mixed with dried down but he wont touch anything else.I have tried store bought food and he hates it.Any suggestions? On a lighter note his fecal has firmed up.Thank you in advance for your help...Paul.

With the onset of the Fall/Winter seasons there comes the usual seasonal slowdown. Leopards seem to be notorious for this. I'd suggest you crank the temperatures up (80 Low, 100High) and see what happens. Be sure to keep the little guy well hydrated. Try dandelion greens and plantain in addition to different fresh grasses also.
