Anyone use bigger enclosure than 55 gall

Malays Apr 01, 2009 12:49 PM

Hello
Anyone use bigger enclosure than 55 gallon tank (48 inch long)? If so is it pvc type enclosure?

My Ca king went from 10 gal as baby to 20 long tank than 30 gallon tank (36 inches) now at 3.5 lives in 55 gallon long.

Not sure if he will outgrow the 55 gallon . If so will buy some type pvc enclosure .
I do hope he will be okay in 55 gallon.

He'll be fine - Back in the day, I had a 110 gallon for a small colony of speckleds in.

Oh 110 gall thats nice. Your snakes got along okay ?

They got along fine, disparate sizes too. The key is to keep them well-fed, and fed separately!

Though not something I would try must say very interesting and a friend who I lost touch with kept 2 Arizona mt M/F kings together for 4 yrs .

Did not think other kings could do same. Granted with CA kings I think bad idea lol

He'd have been fine in the 20 gallon long, the only upside to a larger tank is its easier to maintain a heat gradient through it... You don't need to worry about needing a bigger tank...

I agree, a 55 gal is plenty spacious.

I've been thinking it would be nice to have a "Snake Pen" for letting them get some exercise once a week or so. They don't ever get to "run" in a standard enclosure. I also want a Vision boa rack for my breeding kings and milks. My Tang Albino Hondo female has got to be approaching 6 feet. She's doing great in a 66 qt. Sterilite, but I'd like for the larger snakes to be able to stretch out.

Thanks. I to like them to stretch out .

Thanks. I found the 20 way to small that I couldnt fathom but glad the 55 should do it for life.
