Leo vs Superworm (photo-documentary)

mack1time Apr 01, 2009 03:25 PM

I decided to give my leopard geckos a bit of a treat today so I splurged on some super-worms. I had the camera nearby and wanted to share the spectacular process. It took a few tries but I finally got a decent set. Enjoy

A long time ago, I was TOLD that super worms were bad for leos because of the hard exterior shell of the worm and that the leos don't have strong enough jaws to completely kill that type of worm. Does anyone have any expert info on feeding super worms to leos. I know they are great for chameleons and tokays, but not cresteds and I thought not leos either. Let me/us know.

The only issue I have had with Superworms is that they are too big to keep in those worm dishes. They will get out so you cant really contain them like mealworms. Most of my leos wont touch them.

I tried my luck today with my shy Blizzard.
The results were not as great thanks to a dirty aquarium.
Note to self: Take photos before misting
