I posted this on the beerding page, then noticed no one goes there anymore.....

I have 1.1 DH ghosts that I was planing on breeding to get some Ghosts. But as I look into it more, I see that there are much more interesting options avalable to me with the addition of a new boa or two..

I do not see many ghosts out there. Is this due to the fact no one is producig then? Ore is it just lack of demand?

Please tell me what other options that I have and what new paring will produce....Thanks in advance...Dave

Nothing wrong with ghost boas, some people really like them some others are not impressed. The price has gone down on those genetic types of animals, but it has on almost all others as well. I think that one this forum we see more of the spectacular or "new" and exciting stuff more offten than the more common morphs. Although I have seen some nice ghost posted here before.

As for your breeding, breed what you want to hold back, what kind of babies do you want,

I think that an adition could be a co dom morph, jungle, arabesque, motley ect, ect, het anery, that would plug in very well to your project.

Or you could breed the pair you have, and keep a ghost female, and at that point trade/sell the others to get a new male as listed above.

Give me a combination and I could tell you what mendolin says you would get.

Thats just the thing. See, I am 100% het for TOTALY CONFUSED when It comes to boa genitics. I read and read and just get more confused.

I was kinds looking for suggestions of an end result and tell me what I need to get there. Does that make sence?

So,forget about the DH male for now. That leaves you with a Hypo 100% het for anery aka DH Ghost. Now say you picked up a male Motley 100% het anery and bred it to that female. In that litter you could produce, Motleys and Hypo Motleys that will will be 66% het anery. You could also produce Anery Motleys and Ghost Motleys in the litter. There will also be regular Anerys and Ghosts and then your normals and Hypos that will all be 66% het anery. Anything that doesn't come out Anery or Ghost will be 66% het Anery because you bred to 100% hets together. If you breed a Jungle het Anery to her you'd get the same results as above only the babies would be Jungle. Hope this helps a little.

like Ruban said, you can change out the arabeqsue in this recipie for any other co-dom [dominant to be proper] morph you want, like jungle, motley, ect ect.
As you can see it really would help you to have your male homozygous or showing the anery trait along with the co dom mutation,
so what do you want to make?

I guess what I need to do is, take your suggestions and get a look at some pics...

(fixin to show my ignorance)...what about an albino...what would that give me?....I really like the lipstick stuff...could I ever get there from here?
