WHAT TEMPERATURE IS YOUR HOT SPOT AT?

thunderpaws Apr 02, 2009 06:29 PM

Hi all,

I was chatting with a larger breeder today and we were talking hot spots and ambient temperatures. I have been running my winter ambient temperatures at 73 to 76 degrees and the hot spot at 90 degrees with no substrate. I also drop the hot spot temps 3 degrees from sunset to sunrise. The breeder was suggesting and I BELIEVE the VPI book recommends the same to keep the hot spot at around 85 degrees and to drop the hot spot down into the mid 70s during breeding season. I am always looking for ways to improve these settings, so if you have some settings that are working please share with us.

Best regards,
Bill
