Hey All,

Is it ok to feed a ball before he/she has pooped? My male pooped a few days ago during his shed, but she has not pooped/or shed yet... she is due to start shedding soon though. Can I still feed her? It's been about a weeks since she's last eaten...

feed.........you feed all the time and they are full of defecates all the time...

just got some locality red milks...I feed them every 2 and 3 days.....balls I feed 2 ,even 3 times a week at times......might feed 6 ,10 times before they go....that's why balls are so cool.......they go once a month....milks go three times a day I think........LOL

My male poops every 2 weeks or so. Keep on the same feeding schedule, you'll start to see a pattern with their bowel movements. I write everything down on a calendar. When he ate, what he ate, when he poops, when I see urine/urate, etc...

feed it whenever it wants to eat. its really and truly that simple. you can keep all the defecation records you want, but ten rooms full of filing cabinets will not change the simplicity of the fact - open the cage, offer it feed; if it takes it great; if it does not, so what - it will eat when its good and ready regardless of your chart keeping skills. same with defecation.

as long as yr husbandry is correct, they dont care about your perceived schedule... give them water, give them food, they poop when they poop and they eat when they eat. not unlike you or i... and not fitting into our neat and orderly view of how things should be is exactly what balls live for.

My colubrids seem to poop twice per mouse lol it seems that the pythons use a lot more of the food item than others . . .
