adds the following animals to the list of potentially dangerous animals, the
possession of which is prohibited: primates, alligators, kangaroos, wolverines,
hippotamus, rhinoceros, elephants and various forms of dangerous snakes such
as pythons.

God forbid somebodies anthill python escapes...imagine the carnage and loss of life that would follow, oh the humanity.

Seriously though, it astounds me how completely ignorant out elected officials are. A freakin chimp escapes and mauls somebody, which has got to be a million to one odds of happening if that, and now snakes are being targeted. I could even understand (though not endorse) it if they wanted to maybe ban the "big five" constrictors, but to use the word python is just plain stupid. Most pythons are harmless ie balls, bloods etc. And to be real technical, banning pythons would still allow people to own anacondas?! Too bad the government concerns itself with silly things like banning chimps and snakes when they should be worrying about, hmmmm i don't know, the two wars we are fighting and not to mentions the economic depression we're in!
