I don't know, he might need a little time off the chemo to let his hair grow back before putting that kind of pressure on him.

He's been smoking medical marijuana and it makes him horny!
I'm sure he'll do just fine.

Yeah I agree-some things are better left alone.Meaning singular.
The first thing that came to mind was "chopped liver". Which I think wouldn't be a bad idea for a commercial name, since "scaleless" kinda feels like a medical situation.
Your a GENIUS!!!

How about "you're"???????
>>How about "you're"???????
are you the new english "nazi" here on Kingsnake?
And you obviously don't think he should breed the scaleless rat but instead of your little veiled insults why don't you just say so.
Guess what. It's his snake and he has the right to breed it to whatever his heart's desire, whether you or I or anyone else agrees or not.
sorry but that's the nature of the beast.
So the best thing to do is to come right out and say you disagree with the scaleless snake and explain your reasons why.
The look and idea of the scaeless rat snake do not appeal to me visually but the argument I always hear about how dangerous it is for the snakes skin don't really wash for me.
"oh they will get cut and scraped crawling on aspen or news paper of whatever"
In a controlled environment I don't really see a danger. Their skin isn't paper thin you know.
Not what I like, but like I said he has as much right to enjoy and breed it as I do my snakes. Even my emoryi/corn mixes or anything else I work with that may cause disaproval in some.

I've been thinking more about this Herman and I'll lay it out for you. To come on here and start petty arguments and call names is just childish. The scaleless morph is here to stay with such big names as VPI and BHB working with them. It's only a matter of time till they are being sold in pet stores. You don't have to like the morph or me for that matter. You don't have to buy them. You don't have to collect them. You don't have to have anything to do with them if you don't want to. That's up to you! There are many people that find these animals interesting. I am one of them. I will continue to breed them to every ratsnake morph I can get my hands on. Just remember the more name calling and arguing you do just makes you look more childish. If you wish to keep this up contact me personally as this no longer has anything to do with ratsnakes.

That's funny, for some reason I thought you of all people should know how to appreciate this kind of input. But whatever makes you happy dude, I'm calling it a day.
When you begin a post with "What do you think" then supply a photo of a controversial animal, you should be aware that you are going to soliciting responses that may not be supportive.
This should be a given.Draybar-who are you?;the new abnormality nazi of kingsnake?? Boneyard asked "What do you think?",NOT "Only respond if you agree with what I am doing".
I remind you this is a forum, if you cannot stand someone disagreeing or not seeing your side of an issue-don't post.
As Humans,it is easy to overlook the fact that this planet is not ours to do with as we please.I am humbled by every litter born or egg that hatches for me.I am in constant amaze of the beauty of these animals and the fact that even with our microscopic knowledge of them-they can and will produce for us in our homes. With this admiration comes RESPECT.For me this respect means giving an animal the best possible husbandry I can provide.Husbandry is defined as management, good or bad.
I will tell you that breeding the scaleless trait to as many snakes as you can lay your hands on strikes me as a poor choice. If this trait was beneficial to the survival and proliferation of snakes, perhaps over time all snakes would morph into scaleless animals.Personally, I don't care who else is doing it-I remember what grandma used to say-just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
There are no problems with scaleless snakes they are just like any other morph of obsoleta. They do just as well as albinos or whitesides or whatever else you can think of. You you can just squash the whole "they don't deserve to exist" thing. If you don't like them fine - your more than welcome to your opinion. The fact of the matter remains - scaleless snakes are here to stay!
When people come on here and start calling names (not just the snake me too) that is just childish.
If you have more to say about the snake - post it.
If you want to argue more send me a private message.

I think these are pretty cool. I have also been debating on getting some.
I read some of the other posts and I don't get why there is such hatred towards this morph. Insecurities maybe? Folks could be thinking that their wives are going to like it better than them and run off with it? Kind of a twisted bobbit type thing going on. I would miss the snake myself and than have to buy another pair. LOL
Nice animal you have there and keep posting those pics!!

Remember, you truly only say goodbye in death!
they are butt ugly...the white face patch is the bad spot...if the face was different it would help alot...maybe it could be bred out....(I know, it's genetic).....
do we want them?...probably....I want a derma ball...same thing...only bigger and badder....
...people hate them because...they will say....as scaleless TX rats they hate them OR they will say they don't mind scaleless TX rats but if they are bred to all the other rat ssp....they are mutts and hybrids...(yea,I know...not hybrid..."integrade"...tomAtoe tomatoe....)...
......look what they did with the leucistics and whitesided/licorices..........people don't even ask when they buy a white sided "everglades" or "yellow" rat

The face patch is the only thing that seems to be consistant. They can have varied amounts of scales from completely scaleless to ones that are not missing alot at all but the head is always bald.

May I remind those who think that this morph should not be breed, that the best way to stop it is not to buy one.
We are drawn to the rare and unusual for some reason. It just seems to be a part of our nature. Rare seems to equal more $$$. It is a free country. People are allowed to breed genetically defective animals all they want. I have breed a few albino's myself. The only problem that truly exists is people buying animals and not taking care of them. There are pythons in S. Florida. Releasing captive animals into the wild is the problem. Not the morph breeders.
