I have some tortoise friends who use pumkin seeds as a natural dewormer..
What do you think about feeding this to mice then to snakes for the same benifit?
Anyone done this?

When I was a kid, I remember an old farmer with goats that used pumpkin seeds. The recommended use of them can be found in most of the new age organic type animal care books. I have an old reprint of a 1800's animal herbal that talks about it also.
I don't see any reason not to feed it to the feeder mice. It is used by many tortoise breeders with good results.
Good suggestion

I think it would have to a gut load kind of thing and not to sure about it working. Who knows if it really works or how it works if it does? There are a lot of variables that would have to be figured out. Most likely easier and cheaper to get panacur.

I am trying to find the book. I have on old herbal on farm animal treatments. From what I remember it is used in the winter to reduce the worm load on sheep and goats. I have heard lots of people talk about it's use on tortoise.
It of coarse would not be a complete eradication, and I don't know how well it would work used like a gut load.
