I understand sept. is the time to go....Palm springs , Gates pass rd. , Berdoo canyon ,Congress area,theese are the places I know others have been , but cant locate a couple of them...Please help.

That is your biggest problem. Palm Springs, Little Berdoo, etc are all in California...East of San Diego.

much this late in the year. Babies should be hatching now but adults might be laying low. But in all honesty-----I have only seen very very few chucks in habitat and have never lived out west-- so they might be easily found if a person knows where & how to look for em.
Be careful when it comes to Redtails-- South Mountain Park ( or is it South Park Mntn?) is off limits to collecting as far as I know. Take no offense at the smart asked remarks between me & John E----- it is all in fun.
