wow anyone have this before?

divinitry Sep 12, 2003 09:30 AM

I was checking up on my hatchlings this morning and I noticed some orange on his tail which is odd because i don't work with carrot tails...I noticed that it was near the underside of his tail so I lifted him up and the underside of his tail is COMPLETELY orange, like from the base to the tip! I was shocked..I checked all my other hatchlings and none of them had it...has anyone had this before? I just thought it was a little weird.

My tangerine carrot tail, who just laid eggs herself, has all orange from the base of her tail to a little over halfway down. It is orange all around, even on the bottom, so I'm not sure that this is unusual, at least in my experience. She is a beautiful little lizard though. Best of luck raising her!

A lot of leos get orange at the base of their tails. This was happening long before the carrot tail craze got started. Because of this I do not think that orange on the top is especially noteworthy until it gets beyond 15-20% down the tail with at least 50-75% coverage.

I can't get this little guy to stay still for like a half second and the problem is that this is a side shot and the orange is on the BOTTOM of the tail, like underneath..it's just weird because i've never seen orange on the BOTTOM, always on the top...

That is pretty cool. Breed it back and see if it can be brought out more.

Nice! My albinos get orange on the underside too, but not only on the bottom, it is also up top. That looks promising for a gecko of that size- how old is it? I would definately hold on to that one if I were you.
