Please help yet another clueless fan

Hey guys , so here's my story.

last year I purchased this beautiful little carpet python from my local pet shop...yes yes ...I know...I should have purchased it from a breeder, trust me I regret it.

Anyway, the lady at the pet shop told me the snake was a half jungle half jaguar. Stupid me I said "Oh wow that's great!!!" totally believing this stranger.

I bring the little girl home and fell in love with her great temperament, even as a baby she never bit, never even tried. She's very relaxed and friendly and its for that reason that I chose to keep her indefinitely.

Now my question to all of u "connaisseurs" is this, what do u think she is? Do u guys see any jungle or jaguar or what?

thanx a lot!

Well, It certainly looks like it could be a Jungle Jag sibling. From looking at the pictures, I would say it has definite Jungle influence, and probable Coastal influence. It would be helpful if you could find out who produced her and get in touch with them.

As for the description you got from the pet store, it may have been accurate, kind of. Calling that snake half jungle and half jaguar is like calling an indian x burmese half indian and half albino. In other words, a Jaguar is a genetic mutation that works much like a spider or pastel in BP's. It's co-dominant and is a Coastal carpet mutation. Therefore, if you breed a Coastal Jaguar to a Jungle Carpet, you wind up with all of the offspring being 50% Jungle/ 50% Coastal, while a statistical 50% display the Jaguar mutation. The normal ones will be just that...normal Coastal/Jungle crosses.

Hope this helps...and she's a VERY pretty girl you've got there!

Mike is much better at giving you a clue as to what that is, but whatever it is, it's gorgeous!

I'd say that's a REAL nice score, no matter where it came from!
