stupid temp probe question

hey guys. my little dulce likes to knock the temp probe off trhe basking spot, and so its pretty well lost its adhesiveness. im curious as to whether its ok to wrap tape aroudn to hold it on, or would this affect the reading. i suppose i coooooould just glue it on....

I use tape, but put it across the wire at the bottom of the probe.

The color of the tape will make it read differently, under the basking light. A dark color will make it read hotter, a light color will make it read cooler.

Also, I would be afraid of the heat cooking the glue on the tape, and making a sticky mess.
