had a very old eastern come out of hibernation about 2 weeks ago and he will not use one of his back legs. anybody ever seen this or know what might have caused it? he still has an appitite and gets around fine.

Have you check it very carefully for injury or swelling? You may want to take it to a qualified herp vet to make sure it doesn't have an infection of some sort.
You should inspect the leg for any swelling, cuts or infection. If you don't see anthing-take it to a vet for a more thorough examination. It is not uncommon for a turtle to act this way if the leg was bitten by another turtle and you'll see it if that is the case. You can clean any wound you find.
If you can see anything, maybe a vet can, but you should get to the bottom of it. Tess

the leg is inside his shell and he dosent take it out. from what i can see there is no visible damage. he just gets around on his other three legs. i have a appointment with the vet on friday. im curious to see how he will get the leg out to examine it.
