Day 4 of my Blackthroats together. vid

Do females ever do this tail base/vent area tongue flicking, or do only male do it? And do males only do it to females, or to other males also?
So far, Dozer hasn't done 'any' of this type of tongue flicking towards Brutus, just acts like a female who's not receptive.
Or maybe she's a subordinate male??

Just a bit hard to see for sure, but Im seeing male features about the head and tail base. Im not 100% positive though, here are some comparison pictures.
A male albig, Shadow, who was Sobeks uncle.

Sobeks tail base years ago.

Another angle on Shadow, no doubt on him being male.

I agree, there are some angles when there appears to be more of a bulge, but it's hard to say for sure and the pics aren't great.

They're behaving a little differently now, as Dozer will fly off when scared, but always comes back for another try. Just what she's trying for, isn't as apparent as it is with Brutus. So far, she's shown no interest in 'his' hind end/vent area and hasn't done any 'rapid tongue flicking' on him at all. Neither has she done any head twitching, or hissing. All I've seen her do when he advances, is puff up and run if he doesn't quit !

This is more vid from yesterday. I missed some really good stuff this morning, while my battery's charging!

Something I noticed while looking looking closely at the 'tongue flicking' video, two tiny bumps, or spurs on Dozer, where Brutus seems extremely focused on!

The photos are't very good, as they're taken from the vid.

Here, his snout is pointing to the spurs.

His tongue is aimed just below the spur here.

Look how focused his eye is here.

Any other albig keepers seeing these spurs on their males?
Would love to see pictures!!)
