Is silicone toxic to reptiles in any way (as long as it's dry of course)?

I need something eventually to seal the edges of my melamine enclosure so that I can start using cypress mulch. Is silicone safe? Is there anything else that will work just as well?

Aquarium grade silicone is perfect for reptiles... Dry of course, and just to be safe, let it gas out for a day or two...
