Some cape banded WTs, old pics.

This was one a friend got years ago, he was sold as a female, and was obviously a male at 18 inches long, yet he was over 6 years old. He was one of FRs beautiful babies. In the picture he was around 8 years old.

This was taken at a reptile show years ago, the guy was trying to sell "him" until I told him that "he" was a "she" and how to tell them apart. The sign came off and a new sign went up, "not for sale". Another of FRs beautiful babies.

I don't know if those banded WTs typically stay on the smaller side, but they make for a much more realistic 'pet' monitor IMO.
I love Albig so much, but I wouldn't normally recommend them as pets, due to the space requirements.
However, this size looks very appealing to me!

They do stay smaller, are gorgeous, and other than a few rare sources are almost exclusively from FR.
The biggest Cape bandeds Ive seen were around 4.5ft long. Most seem to average around 3-4ft.
The first one in the picture was around 12 years old when he died, a shame. He switched hands around 6 times before he was given to me.
Sobeks father, and grandfather (same lizard) were a cape banded WT.
