New to carpets

Hey everyone. At work I'm known as the snake guy because I have a few ball pythons and boas. So my buddy asked me if I wanted a snake that he bought his son a couple of weeks ago because it is too agressive for them. I said sure and went to see it and its a jungle (I think). My question is if there's a way to know if it is a pure jungle or if it's crossed? Beautiful little guy, and I only got bit twice today photographing it! Slowly improving. Mean little bastard.

My guess would be a normal jungle. He's got some beautiful markings. And the attitude you described sure sounds like a jungle, lol. Lots of handling will help with the nipping, but it may never go away completely. Our jungle is around 3.5 years and he still gets testy when my husband takes him from his enclosure. I think it has a lot to do with the fact he expects to eat every time you take him out. Jungles has a problem with overeating, so be careful and good luck!

Nice looking jungle! If those colors come in, that will be a REAL nice one!

Jungles tend to be real nippy when young, but with regular, short periods of handling and time, it will most likely calm down.

My jungle was HELL ON WHEELS for the first year or so, and now he's probably one of my calmest.

Wow! I hope my little guys turns out half as good looking as yours. Gorgeous.

Thanks.

Very difficult to tell, other than looking at what 2 created them, you know?

My male started off as real bright looking, and has gone to neon-yellow.

Only bummer is that he's got quite a bit of the black tipping coming in, but that yellow is absolutely neon.

No way to tell. I hatched out some 75% Jungle x Coastals this year that looked "pure". I consider most "Jungles" without lineage information as suspect. Still a very nice Jungle "type" carpet.
