Hey Steve,

I think that is a spotted python. Fine looking animal for sure!

Hey Phil, thanks for the compliment. I have no clue how to tell the difference from a childrens python verses a spotted other then childrens spot pattern fades as they grow. Is there a scale count, or some other way you tell? Thanks
Steve

I'm no expert, but if you do a google image search for the different antaresia species you can get a decent array of photos to compare.

Personally i think it is a childrens. well defined spots and a reddish-brown color... spotteds are more blotchy in pattern and grey in color.

Thanks for the imput guys. I did look at a bunch of pics (google), and did find some childrens pythons that looked pretty much like mine. Then again there were some spotted pythons that looked simular as well. I'm pretty sure since my animal was labeled a childrens python by the vendor, that's what she is. Thanks again all.

I disagree, many snakes are mislableled at shows, but I think Tom Keogen's opionion has merit.
