Stuck Shed and Crusty "Area"

sport72186 Apr 10, 2009 07:27 PM

First off, let me say that I am not new to leopard geckos. Recently, my gecko had some sheds stuck to his toes, no problem, I used a wet q-tip to aid with the shed. One toe has what looks to be a scab, but I want a second oppinion from you guys. In the pic below does it look like a scab? or is it a stuck shed that I need to try to get off?

A bigger issue that I have with the same gecko is that i noticed a crusty piece in his "area." I'm not sure if it is just poop crusted up and stuck, a stuck shed or something more serious. Check out the picture below and let me know if you have any thoughts.

If it is something like poop or a stuck shed, how can i get it off? I tried the q-tip and I've tried tweesers to get it out - neither worked. And the gecko didn't show signs of pain when I was trying to remove it with either method.

Thanks for any insight you can provide..

I like to put out a bowl of warm water for them to soak in. Make sure its not too hot or cold. Only leave them in for a minute or two, but this has worked for me in the past. That toe looks bad, let it soak.

you should also make a "humid hide" for your cage. There are instructions all over the net for a simple one.
