RESPONSES FROM EVERYONE PLEASE!!!

symetryexotics Apr 11, 2009 01:20 PM

This HR669 is NO JOKE! This is a personal advisory like other
people are doing, but there is not much of a response. This
includes EVERYONE, even if you dont own animals, but work for
a distrubuting company, it still affects you. There is probably
a lot of deeper outcomes even than I can fathom, and that makes
me crazy! The education of animals shoud be enough to speak up
so if people own animals.... You get the picture...

I am posting, this is an attempt to get EVERY SINGLE PERSON to
reply to this SPECIFIC post. Write what you need to whether it is
'Im here' or '... (ALOT)....', please do so here. This will also
show how many people are involved. Even if this is your first day
please respond. On the 17th I am going to copy and paste this
WHOLE thread and send it to the address they give me. I hope you
all do the same....

Thank you all for hellping in the cause to save ALL ANIMALS. God
Bless you all
Kenny Bowman

This would be a horrible experience for us all! This is a
personal shot to our freedom I feel. For me, this is the most
enjoyment in life (reptiles in general, but dogs and such as
well) other than family. I have an Unknown Stomach condition that
has costed me ALL my jobs in the past, to the point where the
doctors said that my best bet would be disability, and I am 22
years old. The pain I go through on a DAILY basis, I wish on NO
ONE. With that being said a hobby is the best thing to fall back
on to keep my spirits up.

To vote yes on HR669 would be to say yes to take more of our
rights as people away. The hard working people that run large
scale pet shops or private breeders are at stake here. And this
bill does not affect just reptiles. It affects All Animals! On
the video I watched from BHB Reptiles really broke it down for
me. To have your kids have Gerbils or Hamsters breed by accident
would break a violation of HR669 and would be taken and
terminated most likely. HOW INHUMANE!! I love the thought of me
having Boa Constrictors because they 'make me tick'. I have never
had so much interest in one thing until reptiles came into play. I cannot get enough of learning the Bio's of Boas and everything
inbetween just so I can shed knowledge to the next generation. I
am always showing my friends children my Boas and telling them
about them. They are such a important role in our eco-system
(the world) and people should know about them.

Now with all of this being said, this is on a spiritual happiness
scale, what about the people who have families to support and all
they know is captive breeding of ANY animal furry or scaley?

NO ON HR669! NO ON HR669! NO ON HR669! NO ON HR669! NO ON HR669!

I have written 7 different members in congress who are in support of this very misguided piece of legislation. I was thinking the other other day about this law. How many boas and pythons are in Florida? Several thousand for sure. If this legislation becomes law, and thousands of people lose their career passion, it only makes sense that thousands of boas and pythons may get released into the everglades. People need to make a living in order to feed these great creatures , but if this becomes impossible ( and it will for many), these animals will be released into the everglades possibly by the thousands or more. I dont see too many of us euthanizing the animals that have been our love and passion most of our lives. This will create the epidemic that the bill is trying to eliminate. Go figure, another piece of gov't legislation that makes zero sense and will make things worse for all of us.

I will agree that these laws will create more released animals and will only keep the honest people follow the "law"

I for one will euthanize every animal in my collection before I would ever consider releasing them into a non native environment.

the main point is that there are alternatives to the "free roaming snakes" rather than just propose and try and pass some idiotic bill to just ban them outright, its wrong, everybody including the politicians knows its wrong, its just a power trip by our now "great" government to deminish our rights as "a free people"

i agree that our new gov't is on a power trip...as demonstratred over the past 60 days.

But in all honesty, what is the true motive of these 7 or 10 congressman behind this bill?

If there is so much evidence that contradicts the science behind the root of their argument...is there a chance they are not aware of this???

Are there any congressman in the house or senators in the Senate that are against the bill, on our side?

If so then who?

From what I can tell, it's the representative from Guam. This isn't the first piece of legislation of this type that she's tried to get through. My opinion is that she's trying to get national attention for her brown tree snake problem. Same flavor as the folks in Florida with the Burms, but I think she has actually been at it longer. They can't resolve their own problems, so they try to take them national. I suppose they are thinking if they can't get federal laws passed, if they make enough of a stink about it, maybe they'll get some federal money down the road... Politics...its all politics... Science and reason have little (nothing) to do with justification for their actions. They are trying to advance their own and special interest's agendas, and the other representatives supporting her are probably dong so to earn a political favor, i.e. her support on one of their pet projects... But that's just my opinion, and probably overpriced at $.02.

I look today and there is only a few threads? C'MON GUYS AND POST
If ANYBODY has already done something that is fine just write a
message stating "I have already posted"

This almost looks like people want this to happen. Like Joel said
if you are not helping you are a part of the problem. I truely
believe that as well. I love my Boas and if I could not have them
anymore or have nothing else to do but euthenize them, I would be
a wreck.

Sorry guys I am just starting to get frustrated, it is on the
23rd and we are looking at the 12th (I think).

My next question to try and get this post running is 'who has
actually done something about it?'

Im not trying to make people mad here, but I only know of a few
people who have done something, and a lot of obvious ones (brdrs)

Please guys lets save our COMMUNITY

I have written to my representative urging her to vote NO on HR669. I am also a PIJAC and USARK member.
