Unusual Eastern Milk Snake

milksandbeer Apr 11, 2009 02:48 PM

This CB Eastern Milk is from Gilmer Co., GA lineage. I don't know if the guy is melanistic or what, but I've never seen a coloration like this before. Personally, I think that it's a really cool looking Milk. I shot this pic with no flash, just natural light to really show the true color.

Hey Scott. that is a cool looking eastern. Do all the siblings look like that or was that one unusual? I like it.

I've never seen one that dark. It would be interesting to see if the offspring gained black pigment (like some other milks) as they age.

Its normal in milks. I have had coastal plains so dark that from 5' away you would swear they were chain kings. I have found eastern milks in a salt marsh straw yellow, they adapt to the surroundings pretty easy. My guess is that that line is from a hilly forest.

Jeff's right! Sometimes they're even green.

LOL Sorry Jeff couldn't resist.

How did I overlook this?! Oh well. That's sweet eastern, man. Sort of a Cherry Coke-colored thing going on, there. I dig it.
