Bad news for me today

Ruben14 Apr 11, 2009 09:41 PM

So, I just wrote up a big long post about what happened in detail but hit the wrong button and it got earased. So,my day just keeps getting worse. Long story short I lost the other Snowglow and then the Snow 5 minutes later about an hour ago. Doesn't seem to be from anything I did wrong but I don't know why they both died at about the same time. I'm super bummed right now and feeling sick to my stomach. I can't believe I lost both Snowglows and the Snow. The other BUMMER is that they were both males. I did see the Snowglow away from the other babies earlier but didn't really think anything of it. The Snow started today off being more active so I thought that was a good sign but I guess not. I hope everyone has better luck with thier babies this season than i'm having. I guess it's better they went today and not in a week or month but it just really sux.

I've come to the conclusion it was going to happen from the start and there was nothing I could do about it and i'm not going to let it ruin my happyness about the litter. I still have the Ghost het Sharp which is a ver nice animale to have. Not to mention the Sunglows so I think i'm still good and am still very thankful for what I got.

That's the right attitude Ruben!!!

Not all litters will be good ones. All you can do once the $#@! hits the fan is clean up the mess and move on. Learn what you can and try again!!!

Chin up bud!!!

Keep your head up man. Like you said...it was nothing you did wrong...just mother natures way of saying something wasn't right.

Hey...atleast you still made out with some awesome babies...and a Ghost het Sharp to boot!! Not many of those around!

Cheer up-

How long before you took the mom out of the cage after the babies were born?

Ruben

I am so sorry to your loss. Its definitely not something that you expect to happen but it does. At least your adults are healthy and hopefully will produce some awesome babies again.

Unfortunately, in the middle of last week I lost my gravid
Arabesque het Albino female who was bred by a Jungle het Albino.
She was due on May 18th. I found her in her coil, motionless.

She had no health issues or showed any signs. I didnt have the heart to cut her open but she seemed loaded with babies, so I left it up to the vet to handle everything.

I hope to hit on that cross again next year with another breeding. Good luck to rest of you guys !!!!

You have been very selective in building a good collection of boas so it is only a matter of time before you start reaping the rewards. You have to admit that getting some ghosts het. sharp is pretty cool.
