Black Pine Won't Poop

jepsie2000 Apr 12, 2009 10:43 AM

I'm new to this forum, and I'm having a problem with my 08 female Black Pine. I just received her 2 weeks ago from Larry Dower but lost his email adress. Any way she's ate 6 rat pinks since then but hasn't pooped, in the meantime, my 08 female bull has ate the same amount and pooped 2x. My question is this, do Black Pines take longer to digest than Bulls? Thanks, Jeff

If your heat temps are 80-83* day and 70-75 at night and they have clean water, then you should be good, and rembember that every snake is an individual and most snakes will not willingly dump in their cages, I would try a warm bath, it works like majic, but so does setting it down on warm ground outside of its cage, plus real sunlight is like candy to captive snakes. hope this helps. Snakes are individuals, and due to that, not all of them poop at the exact same time.

Most of my snakes will poop within 2-3 days of eating, including my black pine. I do have a bull though that poops about once every two weeks, and has done so since I got her as a baby. Same with a southern pine of mine, she does the exact same thing. Let me tell you, those messes are pretty big! haha!!

I wish I knew why they have this certain schedule, but I don't. They just do it this way, and have all of their lives.
