today is a very sad day indeed (long)

TimS Apr 12, 2009 07:58 PM

today i found my 9 year old male jungle carpet python laying dead in his cage. He has been in perfect health, no signs of any problems, nothing. He was in shed so i sprayed the cage good he seemed fine acted normal and this morning it was a fresh shed beautifull yet un alive snake. My heart fell as did i.

This was the best snake any1 in the world could ever ask for. he has done so much for so many ppl and now he is gone way before his time. Now dont get me wrong i have dealt with snake and other deaths before but this guy was so special. I dont think i will be expanding my collection but enjoy what i have untill thier time comes.

il keep it short even tho there is so much i wanna vent and only you guys can truley understand.

He never once tried to bite nor show any aggression twards me or any1 else EVER and i have had him since he was 6 months old

Tim,
I'm really sorry for your loss. I wonder if something happened during the shedding process that killed him. Seems weird. Are you going to have a necropsy done?
Again,
Sorry.
Paul

i have other plans that some may or may not agree with but this is not the place for that. for now he is in a bag in freezer. The second i walked and seen him i literly hit the ground and called my friend and she coiled him real nice into the bag and box, i was ballin and yes thats right a grown man ballin over a snake

Been there, done that re lost an animal suddenly for no apparent reason. All you can do is examine your husbandry for deficiencies (likely none to be found) and move forward. Each individual life in this world has it's own clock. When it runs down it's gone. Some have long, long clocks, while others do not.

Chin up Timmay, forward is the only direction any of us can move!!

yeah he was a looker and a great pet and a great breeder tho i only bred him once. but man he sure got his job done lol.

Really sorry to hear this. Sounds like he was the perfect pet snake. Non snake owners don't understand how tough it is to lose a good pet snake, which can be frustrating.

Again, sorry to hear the bad news.

Thanks for sharing,
Ed
