If you had a single adult female that you were sure was going to ovulate and lay bad eggs if not with a male - would you let her lay bad eggs or put her with a male of a different subspecies that you do have and try to get good eggs?

depends ...I hate to waste eggs...and hybrids and integrades don't bother me usually.....some are better than others....some are done all the time and people don't say a bad word about it...
remember,....just because you put them together doesn't mean she will let him breed her or that he will even want to...been there done that...some ssp will not cross....they just know....
I think it was Shannon that told me once that he'd rather see a milk x corn than 2 close milks because it can be seen it is a cross and if you cross 2 close noone can tell once you let it sell....(as in stuarti x hondo ...or nelson x sinaloan....)....
too many nelsoni are mixed with sinaloae....
too many hondos are mixed with polyzona and others...
kings are crossed on purpose ....MBK x cal.....etc....
when goini x brooks are posted here people oooh and aaaah at some of them......
what are you gonna mix???.........
