I have an 05 corn I bought as a pet. Not sure of sex. Do males have spurs?

Males do not have spurs. They have longer tails than females which are the same length. You might be able to get some good "educated guesses" by posting a pic of the underside of your snake's tail.

Cornsnakes do not have spurs but,if you can post a clear pic of the underside of it's tail someone here will be able to sex it for ya'! Jeff

spurs are only present in primitive snakes, such as boas and pythons. Colurbids (corn snakes, rat snakes, milk snakes etc) don't have spurs.

The best way to sex your snake is to find somebody near you who is experienced at probing or popping corn snakes and they can sex it for you. Some vets know how to do this but not all. They can use ultra sound and X-rays to determine if male or female.

I really don't think seeing a picture of a snake's tail, vent down to tail tip, will give an accurate sex. Its very hard to tell if its tapering faster (female) or slower from the vent down. Some breeders have a far better eye but popping and probing by somebody experienced at doing it, higher change of success.

An '05 will be way too old to pop. Probing would be best if you have someone knowledgeable near you. The easiest way to get a photo on here is to upload the photo in Photobucket and just copy/paste the [img][img] tag on here that appears below the image on Photobucket. Please be aware that although we can give educated guesses about the sex of your snake from a photo, it will be far from accurate.
