How to make snows?

SPD89 Apr 14, 2009 05:25 PM

Hey, What snakes are needed to create a snow hognose? Is it just a normal albino x normal anery or do they both have to be het for snow?

Cheers, Stuart.

Albino + Axanthic/Anerythristic = Normal phenotype which is het for both Albino and Axanthic/Anerythristic. You then breed the Double Hets together and have a 1/16 chance of producing a snow.

Here's a fun site which is very educational and should answer any other genetic questions you might have:

Breeding a visual albino to a visual anery will give you all normal babies called "double hets" that carry both the genes for anery and albino. Breeding these double hets together will give you a 1 in 16 chance of getting a snow.
Hope that helped.
