Trimeresurus puniceus babies:

Oxyrhopus Apr 15, 2009 12:56 AM

Had one of my Trimeresurus puniceus drop 9 babies today. Everything she had was live and of course wagging their tails like dogs but not in a happy manner. Mom is a dark colored with white specks and shown just after she gave birth. It appears each baby varies as to color and pattern.

Congrats Dan!
IF you leave all of the babies in that container for a couple of day's, you'll end up with 3 left! LOL!

Hi Dan,

How are you? Looks like "pretty good" - happy to see.

What'd you get there, 5.4?

Looks like my odds of keeping exotic venomous here are about zero. Natives, looks a lot better. Wish me luck.

Oh, I wont sex them for a few weeks until after they shed and have eaten a few times. No need to harass them before conditioning them to big forceps and a pinky at the end of it tapping them on the head. It appears imports are mostly female so it's likely there will be a low male count on these like other tree vipers? Either case, their dad is red and breeding a different female today.
