New froglet doesnt seem to be eating

rc_racer_007 Sep 12, 2003 02:03 PM

I got three blue sipaliwini froglets from blackjungle. Two of them eat like little pigs and the third normally seats or trys to hid in the spagham moss when feeding time comes around. Im not saying he hasnt eaten. Im saying I have yet to observe him eating. Should i put him in a little cage of his own just to be sure?

I would say if you see him dropping weight, then get him in this own tank with paper towels and some leaf litter.

Try saurian's site. raise each of them as he says. always works great. Not pretty, but you really get a chance to make sure all is good - and it forces you to give each frog special attention withough disturbing the others.

How was the shipping and "packaging" of Black Jungle's frogs?
I was thinking of oredering a few from them, but wanted to check with somebody that has worked with them

hope that helps.

thanks for the help

My package from blackjungle arrived tardy. Thanks to fedex. I actually choose express mail as my delivery option but they sent it fedex. And FEDEX SUCKS! My package was suppose to be here at 10:30am, it got here at 6pm.

any who, each from was in a vented cup with moist spaghum moss. the cups where snuggly packed into a little USPS box with enough wadded paper to keep them from moving. Then the USPS box (with the frogs) was put in a large box. it had like hard house foam on the bottom top, and sides. and lots of wadded paper keeping the USPS box in the "core" and sturdy. The paper on top said inspect the box, call them in 1 hour if something is wrong yadda yadda. It mentioned a heat or ice pack, but i didnt see one. But i didnt check it until my other family members ravaged the box. I was to excited to get my frogs to check for that But all arrived healthy and active.

Well, USPS' Express Mail is now handled by FedEx. I have a strong dislike for FedEx and always chose UPS (or Delta Dash depending on the value of the frogs).

i agree with Justin. I would have all 3 of them in seperate shoeboxes or vivariums to ensure that there is no domination for food, which seems to be the case here.

I really dont think theres domination for food, i think hes just still getting use to his temporary home. but i am going to seperate him tommarow.

I thought express mail was handeled by USPS, i check the usps website for rates and express mail was listed there. weird. And as a UPS employee i suggest everyone here choose UPS when available
