Vitamins and Calcium

davenkelly Apr 16, 2009 08:38 AM

Yes I have read all over here about what everyone does with supplements. Little bit here little bit there.

So I started this thread to get everyone’s opinions in one spot. I hope it does not turn into a slug fest.

This is what I do – I mix 4 parts Cal to 1 part Vitamin…… (Yes the same brand almost everyone uses on here) I dust the crickets with each evening meal.

Any and all options are welcome.

Also, for those of you that remember my little Bo that went missing for two days last week, he puked up his last meal that he got prior to going AOL, the nite/morning after he was found. When we found him it was late at nite and did not feed that nite due to lights out. For the last week he has not eaten well. Could this be due to, like us humans, if we get sick, the last thing we want to eat is the same thing we puked up the day befor?....He is eating his vegies some what.

Thanks Dave

What did the temps get down to in your house? If it got very cold that could affect him. Also he may just take some time. Watch his weight (scale not just looking at him) and make sure he doesn't lose too much. If he is eating veggies he is at least saying hydrated. Are you feeding him crickets? Try some superworms they seem to really love them and even if they don't want to eat anything else they will go for those.

Temps got no lower than 65ish...So that does not worry me much
Yes he was eating crickets...
Yes he was eating superworms prior to the escape..now he turns up his nose at them....going to try a few butter worms tonight.

I am keeping a close eye on him and will weigh him tonight and like every other day to monitor...his last weight was like a month ago.

Well i hope its nothing and he starts eating soon.

The risk of him being around the house is you have no idea if he ate anything he shouldn't have while out. If he is pooping normal and eating somewhat you should be OK.

I dust all live meals with RepCal Calcium with D3 except for one a week that I dust with RepCal multivitamin.

In the summer when their outside, I use RepCal Calcium without D3.

My adults only get live food once every other day. They get salads daily and I never dust salads.

BDlvr...do you have any pics of your outdoor enclosures? Would love to see them. Thanks.

Here's one of them. I never leave mine outside in the evening or overnight. The risk from lightning bugs here is too high.
