This Bill has just moved to the Judiciary Committee. It still has a long way to go. We are going to start a grassroots campaign to ooppse this bill next week. Keep the faith.

Can people who live outside of Conn. help? We're in Colorado and have collected close to 1000 letters for HR669.

One way to kill the bill - point out that CT ALREADY requies an importation permit for all wildlife, whether native or not. There are exceptions for certain species that are common in the pet trade and don't pose a risk to native species. I was told (when trying to place turtles into CT) to contact the CT Department of Environmental Protection to see if the adopter could obtain an import permit. One of the contacts for an imporation permit is Dale May, Director, CTDEP Wildlife Division, Dale.May@ct.gov
