Darn it all. Not the results I was

expecting at all.
My 03 albino "het stripe" started making her nest last night but she wasn't due until the 27th. Last year she did the same thing when bred to a DH sunglow male of mine. This time she was bred to an 03 striped albino and I stayed up until 6 this morning checking her and watching her. I finally went to bed since these things can take forever and when I got up 4 1/2 hours later she had given birth to a large litter of albinos ALL in their sacks and not moving AT ALL. I tried and tried to get any sign of life and couldn't so I removed everything and proceeded to count and observe what I would have had if they weren't early.
I began to open the sacs and take out the babies and remove the yolks from the cords. I was putting each of them in one water bowl and about 6 into it I noticed movement in the bowl. Then I started working quicker and noticing more movement. Not a lot but, some. More than I expected for sure. I still don't have high hopes because they are so early but it is encouraging.
I put each of them in a seperate deli cup and put them in a 90 degree cage. We will see if any make it. There were only a few that seemed to have the strength to try and crawl out of the cup.

There were 22 albinos and about 10 slugs. 3 of the albinos were really small but one was moving alot. Weird. One had a huge deformity on the top of its head. NOW here is the real tail kicker. . . NOT ONE LITTLE BIT OF A STRIPE! She is supposed to be het stripe and he IS striped. Even if they were both hets I should see some striping in 22 babies. They came from one of the largest breeders and both supposedly came from different litters where the father was a striped and mom was a het so at the minimum should be hets. I always wondered why she didn't hold her color like he did and like most stripe line animals do. What should I expect the breeder to do? What if the animals live? If they don't?
I would love to hear some opinions. I could provide pics but they would be somewhat graphic to some. Thanks guys!

man that stings Ty, sorry to hear that.

All you can do is ask the breeder what he/she intends to do to make things right...you have first invested money and then time and care, the investment you made for the animal back when you purchased her as a het is probably less for the same animal today. Just my opinion but I think the breeder should do their best to make up for all of the above.

It does seem that with 22 animals the odd's should have certainly shown you some stripes...good luck with the one that are hanging on.

Im sorry to hear that Ty. I agree 100% on what Joel said. I also
believe that msrepresentation is a BIG NO NO. Is there a chance
he sold you a 66% het or something? If it was 100%, there should
be some definate reimburstment.

I personally would have left all of those babies in there sacks in 90* temps for how ever long it took them to either emerge or not.
As far as the stripe thing goes I don't have a clue.
