Monitors

im interested in getting into monitors. i am interested in black throats, nile, argus, and blue tail monitors.what would be a good one to start off with what are the different husbandry requirments? And is the a difference between blue tail and a peach throat?

If you're usually starting out, a smaller species would be a better start.Ackies would be a good choice!The animals you picked get fairly large or are just a bad choice for a first time monitor. If you have the financial means and knowledge to take care of a larger monitor go right ahead.I can even show you sites to go read and learn more before you do anything.

An argus monitor isn't so bad as captives, I've seen most do pretty well. There are plenty of ways to get CBB argus.They still do get a good size and require a lot more then dwarf monitors.The animal I recommended have just more pros then cons over bt,niles,and bluetails.
