Hello
I know to use halogen 45w flood bulbs for basking in most cases. Has anyone came across any bulbs that give off the same amount of heat but use less energy?

Unfortunately, that would violate the laws of thermodynamics. Every watt of electricity drawn from the wall plug is a watt of heat added to the enclosure (more or less - some of it might escape as light but that is small). I suppose you could always get a heat pump, but those are pricey and I don't think they make them small enough for lizard enclosures.
Luke
you are using them.
Think about the poor souls who still maintain collections with 250 watt bulbs becuase they think more is better.
At 30 Watts, 45 Watts and 50 Watts....you are in good shape.
Cheers,
Mike.
