Some bad and one hopeful good!

MontyM Apr 18, 2009 04:09 AM

Well this breeding season did not start off on the right foot for us. We had this litter come too early as you will see in the following pics. The goal was to prove the mom to be a super hypo as well as het albino. Looks like she did not prove out on either note. The good part is that these two particular babies looked way different from the rest and hopefully next year we will make some more. Hopefully these are genetic....what do you guys think? Here are some pics of the mom and the babies. The dad was a nice contrasty albino.

Unfortunately premies are often times also irregular in pattern . I think that much of the time the pattern is disrupted by something going wrong in the process, and that's why they don't make it.

However, the patterns on your two premies are too nice to ignore, and is definitely something to pursue. I know that I'd be trying to repeat that breeding.

Looks like some old Motley sperm was still laying around in that girl. That would be my guess.

Monty, did you ever have a motley with her? Those really look like some sort of motley.

No, this was her first litter and was only with this male.

Looks like spontaneous Motley production Manny.
I'd try that again in a few months
