New tortoise lover?

I used to have box turtles when I was little and have always enjoyed turtles and tortoises. I recently moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and have heard of numerous people with tortoises in their backyards. Can anyone point me to some good websites so I can begin to learn what this will entail? Or give me some good suggestions for species to look at that will like my climate (dry & hot)? Thank you!

IMO, this is about the best site for tortoises.
